Malaysia’s diet which is high in fats, sugars, and processed foods, is putting extra strain on liver health. Common unhealthy dietary habits often contribute to obesity and non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD). 

A sedentary lifestyle further worsens the liver health, leading to insulin resistance and metabolic disorders. Alcohol consumption and exposure to food additives also add to the liver’s workload, increasing the risk of liver inflammation and chronic diseases like diabetes and cardiovascular conditions. With liver-related health issues on the rise, protective care is necessary to maintain our liver functions.

As liver damage progresses, one may feel constant fatigue, low energy, loss of appetite and abdominal pain. The symptoms are generally temporary but the underlying damage may progress as the liver struggles to heal. An abnormal liver enzyme level is often the wake-up call for most people.
